Since 2000, Lee’s team has trained about 15,000 Maybankers in areas of service quality, team building and motivation & leadership. In 2003, Lee undertook one of the biggest project in the nation, training 13,000 Maybank staff in a program – Teaming To Battle – involving 400 branches nationwide both bank & finance units. The focus is to shift the culture of the employees from operation to one that is sales and service driven and to improve business goals. At the end of the project, 70% of the branches recorded significant improvement in sales and service quality. The sales increase supersedes the allocated training budget.
